Projects are imported using the Import Project command or by drag and drop.

About this task

You can import projects that have been exported from InfineonSpice, for example, by other users to make them available to you.

Instead of using the menu command, as described below, you can also import a project by dragging it from the File Explorer to the Workspace view. This also opens the Import Project dialog, but you skip directly to step 5 of the procedure below.

Procedure

  1. Choose File > Import Project .

    The Import Project dialog opens.

  2. In the File to import section, specify the exported project that you want to import.
You can enter the path or click to choose a file. Only exported InfineonSpice projects (.ifzip) can be imported.
  3. In New project name, enter the name that the imported project will have in your workpace.
  4. In Import Location, choose where the project folder will be created.

If you choose User space, the folder will be create in the default location in your user folder where InfineonSpice also creates new projects.

If you choose Custom location, you can create the project folder in any location on your computer. In that case, you must specify the location either by entering the path in the text field or by clicking to choose a location.

If you specify a location on a file server or removable volume, you will not be able to access it if the server or volume is not connected.

  5. Click OK.

Results

The project is imported and appears as a folder in the Workspace view. You can work with it like with any other project.
