Substitution Field dialog

The Substitution Field dialog lets you view and modify properties of substitution fields in a symbol.

The dialog is opened by selecting a substitution field in a symbol view and choosing Edit > Properties. The command is not available when multiple fields are selected.



Text field

The text field at the top of the dialog contains the name of the substitution field.

The menu at the right of the field lets you choose the type of text that is being specified:
Logical label

Instance label

(Currently under review.)

Analog device annotate

(Currently under review.)

Rotate

The orientation of the substitution field in the symbol.

Align

The alignment along the left-right and top-bottom axes of the field text in relation to its point of origin.

Font

The font in which the field text is shown in the symbol.

The menu at the right of the dialog section lets you modify the font:
Choose Font

Opens the Font dialog:



The Font menu lets you select the desired font from the fonts installed on your computer. The Height field lets you set the desired font size.

Clicking OK applies the current setting to the Substitution Field Attributes dialog and closes the Font dialog. Clicking Cancel closes the Font dialog without making any changes in the Substitution Field Attributes dialog.

Use Default Font

Sets the font information to the default font.

OK

Applies the settings made in the dialog to the substitution field and closes the dialog.

Cancel

Closes the dialog without making any changes to the substitution field.
