The ASCLIN module provides asynchronous serial communication with external devices using only data-in and data-out signals. The focus of the module is for fast and flexible communication, either as fast point-to-point using ASC protocol or master-to-many slaves communication using the LIN protocol. ASCLIN supports also the synchronous SPI communication.
