Click File and a list of options related to managing files, such as to create new objects, open, save, print and import data and exit, appears. Depending on what kind of content is displayed in the frontmost tab, different commands are available in the menu.

New

The commands in this submenu create a new object of the chosen type.

Choosing a command displays a dialog in which you name the object. Clicking OK in that dialog creates it in the current project. New projects are created in the Workspace view.

New Project is always available. The other commands are available only if a project or item in a project is selected or an editing tab is frontmost.

Set up a brand new:

  • Project
  • Schematic
  • Library File
  • Symbol
  • Local Component
Import Project

Projects, schematics, libraries and, components can be imported as is required.

Click Import Project. A window opens up. Give location of file to import in File to import. You can browse by clicking on the 3 dots on the right-hand side of this field.

Give New project name which must be unique.

Give Import Location in either a User space or in Custom location. Three dots direct you to a file explorer where you can choose your location.

Alternatively, drag and drop the project, schematic, library or component also makes is an easier method of importing files.

All libraries, symbols, projects and schematics are located into the Workspace and are imported here.

Check & Save

Validates the formal correctness of a schematic and saves it. Any found errors are written to the Output view.

This command is visible only if a schematic is open. It can be chosen only if this schematic contains unsaved changes.

Save
Saves the project in which you last had your mouse.
Save As
Saves the project in which you last had your mouse. with a name of your choice.
Print Preview

Open the schematic you wish to print. A preview of what will be printed appears.

Choose from the menu or icons what you would like to do with your preview. The menu contains the following:

  • File > Print (Ctrl+P) and File > Close
  • Options > Frame and Options > Colors
  • View > Fit to page and View > All pages

The icons have the same commands as the menu

Print the active view (Ctrl+P)

: Select your printer as described below

Show/Hide frame

: You can print your schematic with or without a frame

Background/Foreground colors

: You have a few options on color change

Fit to page

: Fills out the page as much as possible

View all pages

: You can see more than one page at a time if you have more

Print

Open the schematic you wish to print. Click Print. The standard print dialog of the operating system opens. Select your printer and Print.

Export to SVG

Saves a scalar vector graphic (svg) file. Pay attention to the message that comes after printing. This tells you the location of the file you have just saved. Location of the saved file is:

C:\Users\<User>\AppData\Local\Programs\Infineon\InfineonSpice-<version>\bin

When filling in the name, add ".svg". The location the svg is deposited is the location where the InfineonSpice is saved.

Save All
Saves all tabs that are currently open.
Exit

Closes InfineonSpice.

If any documents contain unsaved changes, you will be prompted to save them.
