About this document

Scope and purpose

As requirements from functional safety standards in automotive, industrial and other fields are a challenging subject, this document series intends to provide a first set of guidelines for users who are unfamiliar using Infineon products in a functional safety scope.

Intended audience

This application note series is intended for all those evaluating Infineon products, including functional safety engineers on the customer side and application engineers. This includes designers of safety-related systems who:

  • Are new to functional safety

  • Want to know more about functional safety (also called “FuSa”) applications

  • Want to understand in principle how functional safety can be implemented with hardware support

  • Are looking for functional safety details that cannot be found in the user manual of the product

Structure of the document

This document is a list of released application notes addressing various aspects of functional safety with Infineon products.

The series is divided into three main sections: theory, applications and software (SW) aspects.
